Cross-referencing graphics

You can use two different formats to cross-reference graphics boxes. You can create a cross-reference that provides the entire caption number and formatting, or you can create a cross-reference that only provides the number of the graphics box without any other text.


To cross-reference a graphic caption

Right-click a graphic, click Edit caption, and click at the end of the caption text.

Click Tools WordPerfect Office onestep Cross referencing graphics Reference WordPerfect Office onestep Cross referencing graphics Cross-reference.

Choose Caption number from the Reference type list box.

Type an identifying name for the target in the Select target list box.

Click Mark target.
6.
 
Click in the document where you want the reference to display, and type any introductory text. For example, type “See page” or “See figure”.

From the Format list box, choose one of the following:
Reference — lets you mark a reference for printed documents
HTML-enabled reference — lets you mark a reference for documents intended for the Web

Choose a target from the Select target list box.

Click Mark.
A question mark (?) displays where you have marked the reference.

To cross-reference only the number of a graphics box

Right-click a graphic, click Edit caption, and click at the end of the caption text.

Click Tools WordPerfect Office onestep Cross referencing graphics Reference WordPerfect Office onestep Cross referencing graphics Cross-reference.

Choose Counter from the Reference type list box.

In the Counter dialog box, choose Figure box from the Counter to reference list, and click Ok.

In the Reference tools dialog box, type an identifying name for the target in the Select target list box.

Click Mark target.
7.
 
Click in the document where you want the reference to display, and type any introductory text. For example, type “See page” or “See figure”.

From the Format list box, choose one of the following:
