Setting and inserting rows and columns in tables
You can set the number of rows and columns in a table. You can also insert columns or rows in a table. New columns or rows have the same formatting as the column or row in which the cursor is positioned.
To set the number of rows and columns in a table |

Select a table.

Click Table Format.
|

Click the Table tab.
|

In the Table size area, type values in the following boxes:

Columns
|
•
|
Rows
|
•
|
|
If you add columns and you want all the columns to be the same width, select a row, and click Table Equal column widths.

To insert a column or row in a table |
1.

|
Right-click where you want to insert the column or row, and click Insert.
|

|
Enable one of the following options:
|
•
|
Columns — lets you specify the number of columns you want to insert
|
•
|
Rows — lets you specify the number of rows you want to insert
|
3.

|
Enable one of the following options:
|
•
|
Before — inserts new columns or rows before the row in which the cursor is positioned
|
•
|
After — inserts new columns or rows after the row in which the cursor is positioned
|
•
|
|
If you insert a column, enable the Keep column widths the same check box to prevent the existing columns from changing width when the new column is added.

You can also insert a row by clicking the Insert row button on the property bar.
