Creating table header rows and adjusting table rows

You can create a table header row. A header row displays at the top of the page each time the table spans a page break.

You can allow a table row to continue across pages. You can also change the height of a table row and the number of text lines per row, and you can align a table between the left and right page margins.


To create a table header row

Select a row or several rows.

Click the Row tab.
4.
 
Enable the Header row check box.

To continue a table row across pages

Click the Row tab.

Enable the Divide row across pages check box.

The Divide row across pages option is not available if the row you selected contains cells that are joined vertically. The option is also ignored if you enabled the Single line only or Fixed row height options or if you are using headers in delay codes.

To change the height of a table row

Select a row or several rows.

Click the Row tab.

Enable one of the following options:
Single line only — sizes the row to fit one line of text, and hides extra text
Multiple lines — expands the row to fit more than one line of text

Enable one of the following options:
Automatic — lets you specify a height based on text height
Fixed — lets you specify a row height measurement
At least — lets you specify the minimum row height

When you specify a fixed row height, the row stays at that height no matter how much text you insert in any cell in the row. As a result, some text might not display in a cell.

You can also change a row’s height by pointing to the top or bottom line until it changes into a double arrow, and dragging.

To set the horizontal position of a table

Select a table.

Click the Table tab.

From the Table position on page list box, choose one of the following options:
Left — aligns the table to the left of the page
Right — aligns the table to the right of the page
Center — centers the table on the page
Full — aligns the table to fit across the page

If the table is not sized to fit the page margins, the table size remains unchanged when the margins change. To specify that a table resizes with the margins, choose Full from the Table position on page list box.

You can also set the horizontal position by choosing From left edge from the Table position on page list box and typing a value.
