Choosing and creating shortcut keys

WordPerfect provides shortcut keys that help you work more efficiently. You can customize shortcut keys to provide quick access to the features and macros you use most. You can choose a specific keyboard to use. You can revert to the default WordPerfect keyboard at any time.

You can create a custom keyboard that lets you choose the shortcut keys you use most. You can also add and remove shortcut keys from the keyboards you have created or from the keyboards provided with WordPerfect. To choose a keyboard

Click Customize.
3.
 
In the Customize settings dialog box, click the Keyboards tab.

Choose a keyboard from the Available keyboards list.
5.
 
Click Select.

To revert to the default keyboard

Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Backspace.

To create a keyboard

Click Customize.

In the Customize settings dialog box, click the Keyboards tab.

Click Create.

Type a name for the keyboard in the New keyboard name box, and click OK.
6.
 
In the Keyboard shortcuts dialog box, choose a shortcut key from the Choose a shortcut key list.
7.
 
On the Features tab, choose a category from the Features categories list box.
8.
 
Choose a feature from the Assign a feature to the shortcut key list.
9.
 
Click Assign feature to key.

To add a shortcut key

Click Customize.

In the Customize settings dialog box, click the Keyboards tab.

Choose a keyboard from the Available keyboards list.

Click Edit.
6.
 
In the Keyboard shortcuts dialog box, choose a shortcut key from the Choose a shortcut key list.

On the Features tab, choose a category from the Features categories list box.
8.
 
Choose a feature from the Assign a feature to the shortcut key list.
9.
 
Click Assign feature to key.

You can also
Assign a shortcut that will run an application
Click the Programs tab. Click Assign program to key. In the Open file dialog box, select a program to be run when the shortcut key is pressed.
Assign a shortcut that will play a macro
Click the Macros tab. Click Assign Macro to key. In the Select macro dialog box, choose a macro to be played when the shortcut key is pressed.

To remove a shortcut key

Click Customize.

In the Customize settings dialog box, click the Keyboards tab.

Choose a keyboard from the Available keyboards list.

Click Edit.

In the Keyboard shortcut dialog box, choose a shortcut key from the Choose a shortcut key list.
7.
 
Click Remove assignment.
