Arranging items in lists and outlines
You can arrange the items in bulleted lists, numbered lists, and outlines by changing the level and the order in which the items display.
In addition, you can create an outline from text, which lets you apply different levels to text.
To change the level of a list item | ![]() |

Click in the text of an item.

Click one of the following buttons on the property bar:

Promote

Demote

To change the order of a list item | ![]() |

Select the text whose order you want to change.

Click one of the following buttons on the property bar:

Move up

Move down

You can also change the order of a list item by clicking the Show icons

1.

Click in a document.
|
2.
|
|
Click Insert

3.
|
|
Click the Text tab.
|
4.
|
|
From the Text list, choose one of the following options:

Heading
|
•
|
Quotations
|
•
|
Definitions
|

|
Click OK.
|
6.
|
|
Type text, and press Enter.
