Selecting text
You can select text or deselect text, a tabular column, a rectangular block of text, or a range of text.
You can also set selection options.
To select text |
To deselect text |

Click anywhere outside the selected text.
|
To select a tabular column |

|
Select the text from the first character in the tabular column to the last character in the tabular column.
|

|
Click Edit Select Tabular column.
|
To select a rectangular block of text |
1.
|
|
Select the text from the upper left corner to the lower left corner of the block.
|
2.
|
|
Click Edit Select Rectangle.
|
To select a range of text in a document |
1.
|
|
Click Edit Select Section.
|
2.
|
|
From the Select list, choose one of the following options:

•
|
Page — lets you select certain pages
|
•
|
Secondary page — lets you select certain secondary pages
|
•
|
Chapter — lets you select certain chapters
|
•
|
Volume — lets you select certain volumes
|

|
Type a value in the Range box.
|
To set the selection options for a document |

|
Click Tools Settings.
|

|
|
Click Environment.
|

|
|
In the Environment settings dialog box, click the General tab.
|

|
|
Enable the Automatically select whole words when dragging to select text check box.
